TECHNICAL BULLETIN # 1275 8-1-95 = DPT PM3224 DOES NOT WORK WITH IRQ 2 (9) IN SOME PCI YSTEMS PROBLEM When a DPT PM3224 PCI DAC is installed in the top PCI slot (closest to the CPU board) in a Manhattan P (non DAC model with p/n 202620-002 system board), the following occur: 1. The system hangs after the DPT PM3224 BIOS is initialized. 2. No SCSI devices are shown 3. The system does not complete a boot to be able to load the operating system. 4. The number 98 is displayed on the 4 digit display. 5. The 9th LED on the PM3224 is lit. CAUSE There is an IRQ conflict between the PM3224/90 and IRQ 2 in some PCI systems. SYSTEMS AFFECTED AST PART NUMBER AND DESCRIPTION 501502-XXX MANHATTAN P 5090 SOLUTION This problem is fixed with the latest Manhattan P/V BIOS revision 1.10 or higher (AST part number 905547-039), and EISA Configuration Utilities revision 1.07 or higher (AST part number 911371-038). Obtain the following part numbers by calling AST Technical Support at (800) 717-1278 or downloading the files from AST's BBS. File 05547039.EXE MANHATTAN P/V flash BIOS revision 1.10, and File 11371038.EXE EISACU for AST PCI/EISA based systems revision 1.07 can be found on AST's BBS (817) 230-6850.
