           Ascentia 910N AST PCMCIA Token-Ring with Windows 95


PROBLEM

When Windows 95 auto-adds the IBM Token Ring driver for the AST PCMCIA Token 
Ring card, the Ascentia 910N system may lock up.


SOLUTION

To allow the card to be recognized without causing the system to lock up, 
follow the steps below:

1. Before installing the Token Ring card, run 'PC Card' from the control 
   panel, making the following changes.

          START       000C0000
          END         000FFFFF
          LENGTH BB   00010000

2. Allow Windows 95 to restart.

3. Add the PCMCIA Token Ring Card into the PCMCIA slot.  Windows 95 
   will auto-detect it as IBM Token Ring and install the software for it.

4. Windows 95 will reboot the system.  Upon reboot, you should hear two 
   beeps when the Token Ring card is recognized.
