       Extraneous Vertical Lines in Lotus Organizer on the Ascentia 950N


PROBLEM

After updating the Ascentia 950N video drivers (Cirrus Logic 7543) from 
version 1.X to 2.X, several extraneous vertical lines appear in older versions 
(prior to 2.0) of Lotus Organizer.  Two of the lines will be in the upper 
right hand corner, and two will "bracket" the rings in the representation of 
the notebook binder on the screen.


SOLUTION

Obtain and install the A950WIN interim Cirrus Logic 7543 drivers from the 
AST BBS (817-230-6850).  This file may be found in the SYSTEMS area 
under the filename A950WIN.EXE, which contains two disk images and a 
batch file called MAKDSK.BAT.  

Execute the self extracting file in a temporary directory on your hard drive.  
After this file has been expanded, execute the MAKDSK batch file and follow 
the on-screen prompts.

After the two driver disks have been created by MAKDSK, install the new 
drivers in the usual manner.

NOTE: Before attempting to install the Cirrus Logic drivers, change your 
video configuration to the standard Windows VGA drivers.  After installing 
the drivers, you can select the Cirrus Logic drivers.
