TECHNICAL BULLETIN # 1351 11-9-95 = Manhattan P Netware SFTIII 3.11 with Thomas Conrad TC3047ST PROBLEM The Thomas Conrad TC3047ST MSL netware card is unstable with SFTIII version 3.11, in the Manhattan P system. The system will also fail during the memory test. CAUSE System BIOS prior to revision 1.12 set the PCI EISA Bridge (PCEB) PCI control register 40H bit # 2 to 1. This bit must be set to 0. SOLUTION AST Manhattan P and V BIOS 1.12 (part number 905547310) sets the control register bit to 0 to fix the problem. To resolve the problem, flash the system with BIOS revision 1.12 or higher. To obtain this BIOS do one of the following: 1. Call AST Technical Support at (800) 727-1278. or 2. Download file 05547310.EXE from AST's BBS by dialing (817) 230- 6850.
