                Ascentia - Windows NT, SCO UNIX, or UNIX Ware


PROBLEM

1. The Ascentia system will not be able to access a DOS partition after 
   installing SCO Unix on a Toshiba 700MB hard disk drive.  In Windows 
   NT, during the installation, the system is required to re-boot.  At that 
   point, the system may fail to re-boot.

2. The Ascentia system will not boot into Windows NT 3.51 under battery 
   power.  Other errors may include load default configuration or system hang 
   at the processor initialization screen.


CAUSE

The Toshiba 700MB hard disk drive (model MK2528FC) is not qualified to 
run Microsoft Windows NT, SCO Unix, and Novell UNIXWare 1.1.


SOLUTION

Replace the Toshiba 700 MB hard disk drive (AST part number 450006-004) 
with AST part number 450006-006.
