TITLE:  Adv! Win95 ASTWorks II & Phone Center
 
 
ISSUE 
 
   When shipped with Windows 3.1 and ASTWorks 2 or 2+, and upgraded 
   to Windows 95 and ASTWorks II, systems will no longer display the 
   POPUP ON INCOMING or POPUP ON OUTGOING screens. The options 
   settings on the STARCOM icon are checked.
   
   This issue affects the following ASTWorks 2 systems: 501491, 
   501541, 501543, 501544, 501545, 501546, 501549, 501582, and 
   501583.
   
   This issue affects the following ASTWorks 2+ systems: 501689, 
   501690, 501693, 501695, 501696, 501697, 501713, 501714, and 
   501823.    

 
BACKGROUND 
 
   The upgrades overwrite some of the necessary files. The new files 
   default with this option turned OFF. These files include the .DAT 
   files in the ASTWORKS\PCLAUNCH directory.    

 
ACTION 
 
   There are two fixes to the problem, depending on what version of 
   ASTWorks shipped with the system.
   
   
   The ASTWorks 2 solution is as follows:  
   
   1. Copy .DAT files from Data Disk 2.0 in the 
      ORIGINAL\ASTWORKS\PCLAUNCH directory to the 
      ASTWORKS\PCLAUNCH directory on your hard drive with 
      the following command from a DOS window:
   
         C:\> XCOPY D:\original\astworks\pclaunch\*.dat
         C:\astworks\pclaunch\*.dat
   
   2. Restart Phone Center and re-enable the POPUP 
      functions.
   
   
   The ASTWorks 2+ solution is as follows: 
   
   1. Double-click on the STARCOM icon and remove the check
      marks from the POPUP selections.  
   
   2. Close the STARCOM icon back to the task bar. 
   
   3. Double-click on the STARCOM icon again and add the 
      check marks back.  
   
   The steps above will reset the .DAT files so that they correctly 
   reflect the desired state of the POPUP functions.
