    Manhattan P5090 OS/2 Warp Corrective Services XR_W010 Install Hangs 
			       with Error 3175


PROBLEM

While trying to install the Corrective Service Fix XR_W010 on the Manhattan 
P 5090, with OS/2 3.0 (Warp) Connect installed, the system hangs with system 
error 3175.  The system is using a DPT3224 SCSI adapter and five 4 GB hard 
drives in a RAID5 configuration  This happens during operation of the first 
service diskette.


CAUSE

The Corrective Services package does not contain driver for the DPT HBA.


SOLUTION

1. Create an OS/2 3.0 driver diskette by using the DPT Storage Manager.  

2. Copy the file "DPT20XX.ADD" from this diskette  to "CSFBOOT2" 
   diskette of the service pack.  

3. Edit the CONFIG.SYS file on CSFBOOT2 diskette using a text editor such 
   as DOS editor.

4. Add the following line at the beginning of CONFIG.SYS

	   'basedev=dpt20xx.add'

5. Start the installation using the modified CSFBOOT2 diskette.  The system 
   will recognize the DPT SCSI adapter and all the hard drives connected to it.
