     Advantage! Adventure 818 (P/133) and Creative Labs AWE32 PCI Board


PROBLEM

Unable to disable on-board audio chipset when installing Creative Labs 
AWE32 PCI sound board, on the Advantage! Adventure 818 (P/133) system.


CAUSE

On-board audio chipset resources conflict with Creative Labs PCI AWE32 
add-in audio card in Windows 95.


SOLUTION

1. Do not plug in the new audio adapter.  While Windows 95 is up, click on 
   the Start button, then Settings, and then Control Panel.

2. Double click on the System icon.  Select Device Manager.

3. Double click on the entry Sound, video, and game controllers.  
   Double click on each and every entry that pops up so as to edit individual 
   device properties.

4. While editing device properties,
	 a.  go to the page General,
	 b.  locate the field Device Usage,
	 c.  click on the tick mark next to Original Configuration (Current) 
	     until the tick mark disappears,
	 d.  and click on OK to confirm the change.  

     This step must be performed on all devices under Sound, video, and game 
     controllers.

5. Click on OK to close the System Properties window.

6. Click on the Start button followed by Shutdown.  Turn the system off when 
   it is safe to do so.

7. Follow the User's Manual instructions, in your new audio adapter, to install 
   the required device drivers.
