			Ascentia 950N P/120 SimulSCAN Mode


PROBLEM

When the "Font Expand" option in system setup is disabled, and the Ascentia 
950N system is operating in SimulSCAN mode, any program which uses a 
640x480 display mode will be displayed in the upper left hand corner of the 
CRT; the same program will be displayed in the center of the LCD panel.  
An example of this would be the introductory screens for Windows 3.X and 
Windows 95, or either of these operating systems running 640x480 display 
drivers.


CAUSE

The Cirrus 7543 is operating as designed, in order to maintain compatibility 
with older software.  


SOLUTION

Do the following:

1. Enable "Font Expand" in system setup.

2. Use 800x600 video drivers.  The symptom will still occur, but will correct 
   itself after the introductory graphic has been displayed.
