Switching Hard Drives with DOS/WFW between an Ascentia 950N/75 and a 950N/90


PROBLEM

When an Ascentia 950N/75 hard drive is placed into an Ascentia 950N/90 system, 
while in DOS and Windows for Workgroups, the Ascentia 950N P/75 hard drive 
may hang at the CSALLOC.EXE line of CONFIG.SYS.


CAUSE

Because there are differences in the system board design and the BIOS in 
each system, the resources are allocated differently between these systems.


SOLUTION

Edit the CSALLOC.INI file located in the Cardsoft directory. 

1. In the top section of the file, modify the MEM= and IRQ= lines to:

		  MEM=D000-DFFF
		  IRQ=9-B

2. At the bottom of the file add:

		  MEMEXCLUDE=C000-CFFF,E000-EFFF
		  IRQEXCLUDE=5,C,F

3. In the CONFIG.SYS FILE, modify the EMM386 line to:

		  DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE NOEMS X=D000-DFFF
