	   Ascentia 950N P90/P120, Win95, and Floppy Controller


PROBLEM

The Ascentia 950N P90/P120 Windows 95 may not detect the floppy controller in 
Device Manager.


SOLUTION

Because of the unique AST design with floppy disks in the docking station, 
Windows 95 can not use the normal floppy driver.  The floppy drive resources 
are defined in the motherboard entry of the "System Properties".  

Under "System Properties" in Windows 95, the Ascentia 950N floppy disk 
controller and floppy driver may not appear as a device.  Win 95 does, however, 
recognize the floppy disk drive as an available resource under "My Computer".
Use of the floppy drive through "My Computer" in Windows 95 is normal and 
without error.

This is the current design and it will not be changed in the future. 
The system is operating as designed.
