   Manhattan P Windows NT 3.5x Blue Screen Errors with Seagate ST32430N


PROBLEM

Windows NT 3.5 and 3.51 may become unstable when used on the following 
equipment, in the following environment on the Manhattan P systems: 

       DPT 3224 SCSI controller NT striping or mirroring
       Seagate ST32430N 2G SCSI p/n 230135-220


CAUSE

Not known to AST.


SOLUTION

Installing NT Service pack 2 solves the problem for NT 3.51.

For NT 3.1 and 3.50 there is no Service pack to fix this.  However, 
the problem can be worked around by disabling write cacheing on all Seagate 
hard disk drives.

cacheing.
