		 Advantage! 4075P Modem Not Found by CompuServe


This is an informational bulletin.

The CompuServe software default may send an error message to the 
Advantage! 4075P system indicating that there is no modem present.  

AST addendum part number 003439-001, "Ensuring Correct Modem 
Operation", states the following:

     The modem that came with your AST Advantage! computer is preset at 
     the factory to use COM port 2 with a baud rate of 14400.

     Communications applications and on-line services like CompuServe may 
     have default settings for a different COM port and baud rate.

     When you install a communications application or sign up for an on-line
     service, make sure the COM port is set to COM2 and the baud rate is set 
     for 14400.
