TECHNICAL BULLETIN # 1478 4-5-96 = Bravo LC/MS/MS-T: DOS does not Recognize an IDE Hard Drive on the Secondary IDE Controller PROBLEM When a hard disk drive and CD-ROM drive are installed on the primary channel in a Bravo system, DOS may not recognize the second hard disk drive, if attached to the secondary IDE channel. CAUSE The Bravo system board was designed with a single First In First Out (FIFO) buffer for the IDE controller. SOLUTION Install both hard disk drives on the primary IDE channel, as master and slave, and the CD-ROM drive as master on the secondary IDE channel. The CD-ROM drive must be the last drive in the chain.
