TITLE: Premmia LX and Windows 95


SUMMARY

   The Windows 95 Registry becomes corrupted when installing hardware
   or software under Windows 95 on a Premmia LX system.

   This issue applies to all Premmia LX and Advantage! EXP systems. 


ISSUE

   The Premmia LX system corrupts the Windows 95 Registry when any
   ISA or PCI cards are inserted into the system.  This issue also
   occurs when the user installs any Windows application software 
   packages, such as Microsoft Office 95.


BACKGROUND

   Because the system was developed prior to release of Windows 95,
   AST does not support Windows 95 on the Premmia LX.  


ACTION

   Do not install Windows 95 on the Premmia LX.
