TITLE: Bravo MS and NCR 815XS PCI SCSI Adapter
 
 
SUMMARY 
 
   When NCR 815XS PCI SCSI controller is installed in a Bravo MS, the
   system hangs when booting or when accessing the SCSI hard disk 
   drive.
 
   This issue applies to the following systems: 501772, 501774, 501814,
   501815, 501860, and 501777. 

 
ISSUE 
 
   The NCR 815XS PCI SCSI controller firmware versions 3.06.00 or 
   lower is not compatible with the Bravo MS system.
 
 
BACKGROUND

ACTION 
 
   Upgrade the NCR firmware to version 3.07.00 or higher.  To upgrade 
   the firmware, download file FLASH3X.ZIP from Symbios Logic's 
   on-line services including:

   Follow the instructions in the README.1ST file.
