AST RESEARCH, INC. TECHNICAL BULLETIN # 1514 6-14-96 TITLE: OS/2 Warp and a Non-Existent B Drive SUMMARY OS/2 Warp, version 3.0, may display icons for floppy drives "A" and "B" when only one floppy drive is present. This issue applies to all computer systems. ISSUE When the user clicks on the "OS/2 System" icon on the desktop and then on the "Drives - Icon View" icon, the user may see two icons for floppy drives. If the user clicks on the "B" drive icon, OS/2 generates a recoverable error which allows the user to return to the operating system. BACKGROUND According to IBM, this is a normal circumstance and it is the default method by which OS/2 Warp v.3.0 installs regardless of the hardware platform. ACTION The user does not need to take any action with this issue. NOTES Disabling the second floppy drive in CMOS SETUP does not remove the second floppy icon.
