TITLE: Manhattan P and V, Video, OS/2 Warp v3.0


SUMMARY

   Under OS/2 Warp 3.0, 1024x768 is not an available video resolution
   on the Manhattan P and V systems.

   This issue applies to all Manhattan P and V systems.


ISSUE

   When attempting to change the video resolution under IBM OS/2 
   Warp 3.0, 1024x768 is not listed as an available video resolution 
   on the Manhattan P and V systems.


BACKGROUND

   IBM OS/2 Warp 3.0 does not support 1024 x 768 with less than 1MB 
   of video RAM using the Cirrus Logic 5424 chipset.  The Manhattan 
   P and V systems contain 512KB of video RAM which is not upgradeable.


ACTION

   If the user requires resolution 1024x768, the user should add a
   video card that has 1MB or more of video RAM.

NOTES

   Cirrus Logic video drivers are not shipped with the Manhattan P 
   and V systems.

   AST's Cirrus Logic drivers, version 1.01, do not contain drivers 
   for OS/2 Warp 3.0.  Video drivers for OS/2 Warp 3.0 were 
   incorporated into the Operating System by IBM and Cirrus Logic.
