TECHNICAL BULLETIN # 1620 11/13/96 TITLE: Ascentia J, PerfectOffice, Install ISSUE When attempting to perform a network installation of Novell's PerfectOffice, version 3.0, onto an Ascentia J system, any of the following may occur: 1. A General Protection Fault error. 2. The system may report the install disks are incorrect, or indicate that there's a file installation error. 3. Decompression errors. These issues occur while using the Windows for Workgroups, version 3.11, operating system. These issues affect all Ascentia J mobile systems. BACKGROUND N/A ACTION Contact AST Product Support at 1-800-727-1278 and request the latest Cardwizard software, version 4.11.04. Mention Internal Document # 0119TA.TXT. After installing the Cardwizard software, make the following modification to file CS.EXE: 1. Run CONFIG /ALL from Cardwizard directory (or from wherever the CONFIG.EXE program was installed). 2. Select UTILITY/BINARY ADAPTATION. Press the [Alt+O] keys to open Binary Adaptation. 3. Highlight CS.EXE and press the [Enter] key. 4. Select /IGNOREPNP and press the [Alt+E] keys to edit parameters. 5. Change the Default value to 1. Press the [Enter] key twice. 6. Press the [Alt+S] keys to save the configuration. 7.
