TITLE:  Manhattan S6200 and Adaptec 2940UW
 
 
ISSUE 
 
   If an Adaptec 2940UW SCSI controller is installed in the 
   secondary PCI bus, slot numbers J4 to J7, Windows NT version 4.0 
   installation will fail when the user selects auto detection for 
   the mass storage device driver. The following error message will 
   appear during setup disk # 3:
   
      Hardware Malfunction
      Call you hardware vender for support
      NMI: EISA IOCHKERR board E
      The system has halted
   
   This issue affects the following systems: 501832 and 503076.

ACTION 
 
   AST strongly recommends that the user install the Adaptec 2940UW 
   mass storage device in the primary PCI bus slot (#1 or #2) to 
   eliminate upgrade or installation issues. This is the default 
   configuration.
