TITLE:  SoftPEG Player Missing in Ascentia A
 
 
ISSUE 
 
   The SoftPEG Player, usually bundled with the Ascentia A systems 
   (AST part numbers 503150-503 and 503151-503), may be missing from 
   the hard disk image. This may occur in new Ascentia A systems 
   shipped after January 1997.
   
   This issue affects all Ascentia A systems.    

 
BACKGROUND 
 
   The SoftPEG software conflicts with the Microsoft ActiveMovie, 
   which is bundled with Windows 95 OSR2. Therefore, SoftPEG was 
   removed from the hard disk image.    

 
ACTION 
 
   Use Microsoft ActiveMovie instead. To do so, perform the 
   following steps:
   
   1. From the desktop, press the <Start> button.
   
   2. Select Programs, then Accessories, and then
      Multimedia.  
   
   The ActiveMovie player provides the same (or even more) 
   functionality as SoftPEG does.
