Last Revised AST RESEARCH, INC. TECHNICAL BULLETIN # 1758 09/16/97 TITLE: Bravo MS 6233, 6266, 6300, AGP Adapter ISSUE The Bravo MS 6233, 6266, and 6300 systems display several memory and I/O conflicts while accessing the System Resources (Display Adapters, Device Manager, System Properties in Control Panel) for the AGP ATI 3DRage Pro Adapter. The system also displays these conflicts when the system uses other AGP manufacturers's adapter, such as Matrox. These conflicts exist when the user runs Windows 95 on a system with any PCI to PCI bridge. This issue affects the following systems (if an AGP Adapter is added): 503368-101, 503368-201, 503370-101, 503502-101, and 503502-201. BACKGROUND The ATI AGP video adapter and the onboard PCI share some of the resources. This sharing causes the memory and I/O conflict message. This conflict message also occurs with other AGP adapters. ACTION The system is operating as designed. The operation of the AGP is normal and will cause no problems. Please ignore the conflict notifications. NOTES Current system SKUs do not include the AGP video adapter. AST will offer the AGP adapter as an option kit in the future. None of the Windows 95 versions support AGP. The conflict error messages should be resolved with the release of Windows 98.
