Last Revised AST RESEARCH, INC. TECHNICAL BULLETIN # 1767 10/07/97 TITLE: Chassis Intrusion, Bravo MS/MS-T ISSUE When the Chassis Intrusion feature is ENABLED in System Setup, if the cover was removed, the Bravo MS or MS-T system may not warn the user that an intrusion was detected. This issue affects all Bravo MS and MS-T systems. BACKGROUND N/A ACTION Customers concerned about chassis intrusion have the added option of locking their computer system with the included lock eyelet which is located on the back of their system. NOTES The system is operating as designed. Due to the differences in ambient lighting and the computer's physical locations, the Chassis Intrusion feature may not detect a Mini-Tower that has had its cover removed. The Bravo MS/MS-T uses a photocell to detect light hitting the sensor. Because one cannot determine the actual amount of light given a particular customer environment, there may be a difference in the way a desktop reports an intrusion as compared to a mini-tower.
