AST Part Number 202141-001 ============================================================================== Rampage! AST Part Number 202073-001 The Rampage is a memory enhancement board designed for use with the IBM PC, XT, and 100% compatibles running at a speed of 4.77MHz. The Rampage can be populated from 256K to 2048K using industry standard 256K DRAM chips of at least 150ns speed. The memory standards supported by the Rampage include conventional (640K base), LIM 3.2, EEMS, and LIM 4.0. Extended memory can be emulated by using the REX.SYS device driver. In order to access any non-coventional memory, the REMM.SYS device driver must be used. SW7 & SW8 define the amount of conventional memory available to the PC from the Rampage board. In some cases, the total of existing PC memory and Rampage conventional memory may add up to more than 640K. In this situation, conventional memory stops at 640K and the balance becomes available as expanded memory. JUMPER SETTINGS The only user-configurable jumpers on the Rampage are the three pin jumper labeled "E1-E2-E3" and the two pin jumper at "E8-E9". By attaching E1-E2, Dual Page Mode is disabled, allowing only one set of mapping registers for expanded memory. Attaching E2-E3 enables Dual Page Mode, allowing two mapping registers. AST recommends two mapping registers, as they are useful for multitasking purposes. Attaching E8-E9 enables parity checking. It is strongly recommended that parity checking is always enabled.
