THE USE OF IBM PC DOS WITH TOSHIBA PORTABLES

          The following points should be remembered when using PCDOS 3.2
with Toshiba portables products. 


- The date and time cannot be permanently altered on the Toshiba systems using IBM DOS.

- "Basica" on IBM DOS will not run on Toshiba systems.

- There is no "CHAD" file on IBM DOS so the screen characteristics on the T3100 cannot be changed unless Toshiba DOS is used.

- To format diskettes for 720KB, a device driver must be added to the config.sys file from DOS 3.2. The driver setup is as follows:

device=driver.sys /D:0/f:2

"0" is the physical drive number
"2" is to format for 720KB 

- To access the drive, type d:

Running PC DOS on Toshiba portables is possible but is not recommended and is therefore considered an unsupported practice by Toshiba.
