For new NiMH batteries, try Auto-tune a couble of times. These batteries change their behaviour overvtime, until they stabilize after a few charging cycles.
We found the following values to be somewhat representative of batteries. Note: These values may not be exactly right for your batteries. We recommend that you adjust these to fit your own set of batteries. This is just a "reasonable" starting point!
The value for "Start charging voltage" is not specified here, since it depends on the frequency of charging you select. If you wish to keep the batteries mostly charged, make this value higher, and ABC/LX will alert you to charge sooner. (See the screenshot below)
The value for trickle charging can be set at 2:00 hours.
Follow these directions:
1. On the Palmtop, close all the open applications.
2. Press from the Applications Manager screen (icons
menu): Menu, Applications, Terminate All, F10 (OK). That
puts you in MS-DOS.
3. Enter at the prompt:
ABCTSR
and press Enter. You should see a message from ABCTSR
telling you it is unloaded.
4. Copy the files from the diskette (use the install, or
simply copy the files via Connectivity Pack or any other
method connecting the Palmtop with a desktop.) Make sure
to overwrite the old (demo versions) ABCTSR.COM and
ABC.EXE.
5. Continue with the installation as described in the
ABC/LX Manual.
